Oversee the Countywide Communications digital team and direction of L.A. County’s online presence, onboard strategic digital initiatives, define voice and tone of L.A. County’s digital brand to effectively reach intended audience, analyze and anticipate technological trends, and advise County departments on digital growth techniques.

  • Managed communications strategy for Woolsey Fire, including development of response and recovery website, public messaging, and communications staffing.
  • Managed digital strategy for Measure H educational outreach, including social media, creation of digital toolkit to streamline external communications, and development of website to lead to passage of Measure H.
  • Coordinate with L.A. County Board of Supervisors offices and County departments to effectively communicate messaging through digital platforms using engaging posts, video, graphics, photos and other multimedia content.
  • Oversee design, development and branding of Board of Supervisors priorities and initiatives related websites and communication materials, including the Homeless Initiative, Office of Cannabis Management, Economic Development, Correctional Health Services and Chief Sustainability Office.

Managed media relations as spokesman, facilitated press events and major speeches, tracked constituent and regional issues, developed digital communications strategy and managed special projects, crafted policy related to Safe Surrender program and child sex trafficking.

  • Oversaw budget, design, development and rollout of refreshed Baby Safe Surrender program. Managed external public relations firm and $500,000 budget to expand outreach to communities in multiple languages.
  • Oversaw online communications with constituents and journalists, resulting in significant expansion of media coverage and interaction with nearly two million residents.
  • Produced over forty episodes of Supervisor Knabe’s monthly, statewide public affairs television show, Dialed-In with Don Knabe; booked guests and wrote scripts; used traditional and new media channels for promotion.
